Wednesday, April 8, 2009 Right Now: Metal Attraction
Bold, bright and shiny describes the general spring theme. Whether it’s gold Prada ensembles, metallic Louis Vuitton dresses, or infamous sequined Balmain — garish is in.

It’s time to pay less attention to “simple and classic” and embrace these slightly darker times with open, sequined and studded arms. Hey, just because there’s no shiny change in the bank, doesn’t mean there can’t be gold in your wardrobe. Here are some vintage runway alternatives that won’t leave you broke.

Wednesday, April 8, 2009 Right Now: Tie Me Up, Chain Me Down.
It’s hard to ignore that chained accessories are everywhere. Whether you’re attempting an Alexander Wang chained shorts diy, trying to understand Erin Wasson’s body chains, or drooling over the multitude of designer chained handbags, it’s clear that chains are here to stay.

While chains can be somewhat formidable and often evoke images of tattered denim, black leather and metalhead hair, it doesn’t necessarily need to be. We just got in some stunning Jeffrey Campbell shoes with chained detailing that are completely feminine and sexy and sure to make a statement.

Wednesday, April 1, 2009 Right Now: Baby Come Back!
It’s obvious that we’re in love with vintage of all kinds, but we are particularly excited about the resurgence of all things 80′s on the catwalk: acid wash jeans, studs, strong shoulders, various forms of jumpsuits and rompers, neon colors and, of course, statement jewelry. The fashion world seems to be welcoming all things bold and gold, large and eccentric and we’re stoked to be offering some vintage finds I think you’ll love:

Vintage Cross Shoulder Dusters
These gold cross earrings are reminiscent of the Givenchy necklace that caused quite a stir on the runway and a slew of diy’s in the blogosphere. The Olsen twins have also created cross + chain earrings for their Elizabeth and James line.

Ear cuffs are a quintessential 80′s accessory, right up there with slap bracelets and plastic cuffs. I remember Rumi from Fashion Toast lusting after them a few months ago and I’ve been seeing them around with greater prevalence. Whether it’s delicate like Jordin Sparks’ at the 2008 MTV Music Awards or bold, like Rachel Comey’s Spring 2009 show, they don’t fail to make a statement.

Fruit jewelry is always a cute and fun accessory and this one doubles as a necklace AND comb. Need I say more?
