So a lot of you gals have been asking for suggestions on what to wear to Coachella and with loads of festival-friendly arrivals coming in, we had to share what’s on our packing list!
There are three main things we try to keep in mind when planning the annual pilgrimage to Indio: sweltering heat, cramped quarters (at the hotel, tents and in your suitcase), and most importantly, amazing pieces that are easy to toss on and head out to the polo field.
Which brings us to our ten Coachella essentials:
1. An oversized tee and/or tank
2. A sheer lace tank to layer over a bikini top
3. Denim cutoffs
4. A slinky tank dress (we’re beyond obsessed with Ann Sofie-Back’s version for Cheap Monday)
5. A wild print dress or romper (to catch the eye of a cute bassist or street style photog!)
6. Perfectly worn-in flats to pair with…well…everything
10. Waterproof mascara (to minimize the risk of a raccoon eye incident)
So there you have it! And if you can’t make it down to the Polo Fields, just download Phoenix’s new live album gratis and head to the park with a boombox!

We’re totally head-over-heels about fashion blogger Maggie Chong’s youthful take on a classically demure piece, rocking NG’s Waldorf Pussy Bow Blouse with rolled-cuff denim shorts, oversized sunnies, towering boots and an 80′s-inspired gold watch. Since sheer blouses and denim are starting to pop up everywhere we look this season, we asked her to share what else makes her tick (sartorially speaking of course):
Okay, describe your style: Simple and classic.
Who do you find most inspiring? There are a lot on my list but if I had to choose one, it’d be Kate Lanphear for her style and beautiful editorials.
One thing you can’t live without: Non-fashion related, my laptop. Fashion related, sunglasses (to cover my puffy eyes).
Your 3 wardrobe essentials: Skinnies, heels and watches.
P.S. Send photos of how you wear your fave Nasty Gal pieces to jaclyn@shopnastygal.com for a chance to be featured on our blog!

Okay, so we just came across this Beverly Hills 90210 promo shoot while reminiscing on the glorious days of 90s TV fashion, and think it’s safe to say that their outfits look almost as current (and even inspiring!) as they did 20 years ago…and no, that’s not a typo. While we found the photos of Donna particularly babe-o-licious, each of the ladies have a distinct all-American style that’s back in full force on the runways and streets alike.
So let’s break down this 90210 ’90/SS ’10 parallel a bit more:
1. Donna, exhibit no. 1: Flowers are seriously in bloom this season, and we’d kill to rock this bright bikini poolside!
2. Donna, exhibit no. 2: This time donning the circle sunnies, cropped tee and light-wash denim uniform of the ultimate California girl.
3. Kelly: Kelly’s sheer lace top and rolled-cuff denim shorts make for a totally chic beach cover-up.
4. Andrea: Hell, even Andrea looks fab in her all-white ensemble topped off with a purple scarf tied into a bow. It’s a perfect idea for girls like us that have an insane amount of vintage silk scarves that don’t get enough love.
5. Brenda: Last but certainly not least, this cheery striped tee and high-waisted denim combo makes even the baddest of bitches look like the girl next door.
So which 90210 gal will you be channeling this season??

Though accessorizing with belts isn’t particularly new, lately we’ve been noticing fresh takes on cinching that deserve to be shared with our fellow Nasty Gals. During the chilly months, we love giving shape to otherwise bulky winter coats and cardigans with belts of all shapes and sizes, but thankfully this styling tip can easily be translated long after you shed the parka.
Whether you prefer rocking a low slung belt with a military-inspired ensemble a la Rag & Bone or using a waist-cincher to dress up a basic tee or classic trench, belts are a perfectly modern (not to mention affordable) way to add polish your spring wardrobe. We recommend investing in a timeless brown leather belt with some extra length so you can wear it at your hips or looped through at your waist as well as a few bold vintage numbers that pack a bit more punch.
So do tell, what’s your favorite way to accessorize with belts?

We absolutely adore how Montreal-based blogger Marie-Christine toughened up her adorable lace dress with NG’s Power Up Velvet Blazer and bold black accessories, so we asked her to divulge a bit more about her signature style:
Describe your style: I love mixing opposites like casual with romantic and a structured piece with draping or ruffles. Most important, I wear whatever makes me feel comfortable and confident!
What do you find most inspiring? I get inspired by everything that surrounds me: people in the streets, runways, magazines, movies (especially the old ones), travels and blogs.
One thing you couldn’t live without: AÂ great pair of sky high heels, they can make any boring outfit look fabulous!
What are you most looking forward to wearing this season? Nude & pastel colors, leather shorts and flower print dresses.

With the resurgence of DIY Manic Panic dye jobs and pastel hair, we suppose it was inevitable that spring’s hottest beauty trend would make its way to a more temporary, albeit more unusual, territory — the eyebrow. As seen on the Balenciaga AW10 runway, we predict this delightfully fresh accent will become all the rage with the experimental fashion set as the weather heats up and we think it’d look absolutely fab with a neutral palette or wild prints alike.
So gals — do you think you’d embrace the colored eyebrow trend or is it a bit too avant-garde Easter bunny?
