We’ve been crushing on Jessica for a while now, so we’re stoked to finally have her in the studio this week. Since there’s nothing we love more than when a model is just as much fun to hang out with as she is to shoot, we were excited to find out she loves blasting gangsta rap at 3 p.m. and eating tarts (preferably at the same time) as much as we do. Obviously, we had to see what else Jessica’s into when she’s not behind the lens.
The worst day of the week is almost over, so we thought we get you smoothly out of the office and into the wild, with new tunes by our resident music geek, Nick. This week, he’s taking you down memory lane to give you a taste of his all-time favorite jams by everyone from Deee-Lite to Sonic Youth.
You’re not dreaming – we’re giving one lucky winner a $10,000 gift card to get anything and everything
First of all… a big thank you goes out to all of you girls and guys for joining our long-awaited relaunch party! Everyone looked awesome – so many babes all around. We literally had no idea how insanely huge this party would turn out, and I have to say it proves we do it better. Check out the party snaps from Mark Hunter / Cobrasnake for some serious style and attitude inspo!
Here at Nasty Gal, “What’s for lunch?” is almost as important as “Who makes your shoes?” We LOVE snack time, and just had to include a place on our new blog to talk about all these delicious bites, from the best farmers market in town to our favorite hole-in-the-wall bar. Yum. For all of you on the way down to Coachella Valley, our food contributor Zinzi from the band Kisses dishes on the perfect desert snack.
If there’s one makeup trick that every girl should have in the bag, it’s the perfect smoky eye. It never fails to make us feel vampy, even when we’re just running to the grocery. Hey, you never know who you’ll bump into! We’re especially fond of this fresh take on the look, since it’s totally day-friendly but can easily be transformed into a more dramatic look for a night out. So here’s the secret to mastering our favorite smoky eye.
Lately I’ve been trying to figure out what my actual inspiration for my spring wardrobe is. Trends for this season are all across the map, the most notable being color blocking and mixed prints. I like to interpret trends in my own way, and this spring I have decided to make it all fall under the category of femininity. Yes, it is time to embrace your inner girl power and dress like a lady! I, for one, am always the one to be pro-skinny jeans, collared shirt and leather boots, and always end up looking like one of my favorite band members. But finally I have realized that maybe I should start embracing my femininity in order to flat out just look cute!

After working as live-in nanny to support herself while she interned at fashion houses, she landed a job as a jewelry designer for MinkPink and Evil Twin.
