What makes the staff at Nasty Gal HQ sweat? No matter what the workout, we’ve got the right music to bump up our heart rates. Here, our favorite sporty songs.
Evidently, those evil geniuses over in Vice-land
After the major dose of athletic aesthetic inspiration that is our April lookbook—not to mention the model’s insanely hot bod—you, like us, might need to give your closet a serious workout. We aren’t the only ones stepping up our game; some of our favorite street style bloggers have gone sporty, too, complete with striped jerseys, leather caps, and electric kicks of color. Gear up and game on!
Go the distance in ready-for-anything clothes, electrifying accessories and stomp-it-out shoes. Game on!
When we grow up, we want to be Karolina Wallace. Not only has the Poland-born, German-bred beauty graced the pages of Harpar’s Bazaar and Elle Italia (to name a few), she’s also an amazing photographer and musician. She and her equally gorgeous beau make up Radiant Reveries, the folk rock group the couple formed together last year. As you can imagine, we couldn’t wait to chat with the bohemian babe about her favorite bands, books, and the coolest place she’s ever been.
If there’s one thing we love here at Nasty Gal, it’s an excuse to cover our face in glitter. A trip to the grocery store? Sure. An oil change? Totally. A day at in the sun at a summer festival? Well, this one’s a no-brainer.
So, to kick off our season in the sonic fields, we’ve concocted one hell of an eye look. We’re not talking glitter eyeliner or some shadow with sheen, but honest to dog glitter glued to your eyelids. Don’t be shy—we certainly never are!
Our out-of-this-world video directors at Knockout Pictures broke it all down into easy-peasy steps, but our in-house makeup master Stacey Nishimoto’s got more than a little advice on how to really master this look. Below, the exclusive unabridged version, straight from the source!
When we were kids, our copy of Braids and Bows ended up in the garbage—a combination of our hatred of ribbons and our boiling frustration over our utter lack of ability. These days, we’re willing to give these pretty little plaits another try. Not only have braids evolved into a cool, intergalactic art form since our embarrassing class photo days, but they also serve a real and breezy function come festival season.
To get us ready for that extreme desert heat—and stand out in a sea of coif crowns—we turned to our nearest braid babe, Alison Brislin, who cooked up this sorta sleek, sorta spacey look special for us.
The term “girl crush” is just a little too twee for our liking, but if we were to throw the term around, out first stop would have to be Comenachi vocalist Akiko Matsuura. We caught up with her in the latest issue of SUPER NASTY, where she spilled her guts on all the best and brightest spots in London. Below, we pull some classic rock-and-hard-place moves on Keex, who tolerated us and our questionnaire gracefully. Love this girl!
