Friday, March 14, 2014 Studio Soundtracks: Deap Vally
There’s really only one word to describe Lindsey Troy and Julie Edwards of Deap Vally: badass. You wouldn’t think this noisey rock ‘n’ roll duo met in a Silver Lake needlework class just a few years ago–they’ve already played every major music festival (see: Glastonbury, Bonnaroo, and Leeds) and opened for Muse. Before these Cali girls headed back on the road, they get decked out in Nasty Gal at their rehearsal space in LA and gave us the low-down on what really happens at all those summer festivals.

Thursday, March 13, 2014 Top Tens: Movie Scenes That We Wished Happened At Our Prom
Whether you were a nerd, queen bee, stoner or total freak, high school was certainly an experience for all of us. Then, after four long years being trapped in the suburbs, it all culminates into one big moment: prom. But here’s the thing: movies have tricked us into thinking something super major will happen on the big day. (See: everyone suddenly breaking out into a choreographed dance routine, the shyest girl in school getting named prom queen, or, gulp, someone getting eaten by a vampire.) The truth is, it’s probably going to be a heck of a lot of chaperones, awkward dancing, and avoiding people you don’t like, but here are top 10 moments that we wished happened at our school dance.
Wednesday, March 12, 2014 Nasty Gals In The Wild: Sarah Engelland At SXSW: Part 1
You might’ve spotted model Sarah Engelland on the John Galliano F/W 2014 and Saint Laurent S/S 2014 runway this past year, but this week she took a break from the fashion world and headed to SXSW for a balls-out road trip. Sarah is a total Southern girl (and a major foodie!), so she decided to share her day-to-day hangs with us because, well, she’s cool like that. Peep her Texas adventures below, and check back right here on the blog for the rest of her SXSW diary later this week.
Wednesday, March 12, 2014 Artsy Fartsy: Illustrator Seitaro Ito
Ever since we visited Japan, we’ve been obsessed with all things Tokyo. Thanks to some friends we met along the way (and serious internet stalking), we discovered illustrator Seitaro Ito—who created the iconic ’60s bombshell character Foxy—and knew we had to find out more about him. As it turns out, he’s BFFs with our go-to kawaii artist Esther Kim! The two met through mutual friends, and Seitaro said, “I was so happy when she said she liked my drawings because I also adore and respect her.” So, we thought we’d do the cutest thing possible: let them interview each other. Check out Esther’s Q&A with Seitaro below—and peep his killer Nasty Gal illustrations along the way.
Tuesday, March 11, 2014 Role Model: Jeneil Williams
It ain’t easy being a swimsuit model, but when Jeneil Williams stopped by our studio, we were super inspired by her badass confidence and you-can-do-anything attitude. The 22-year-old model relocated to NYC from Jamaica after being discovered at a pageant in 2007, and we were lucky enough to chat with her about the secrets to success—and how she got that killer bod.
