Wednesday, May 9, 2012 Artsy Fartsy: Models With Ink
Whether covered with words of wisdom, swirly sketches or nostalgic stickers, these model set cards and Polaroids are just too cool. Not only do they show off the drawing skills and personality of each model, but also inspire us to start doodling on everything in sight.
Wednesday, May 2, 2012 Artsy Fartsy: Ambre Clavel Dreams In Watercolor
It was love at first sight when we Tumbl’d upon Ambre Clavel’s candy-coated illustration of our coveted Sugar High Blouse. The 23-year-old French illustrator and architect has been drawing since she was a little girl, and recently started sharing her love of fashion through dreamy watercolors and photo collages on her Tumblr blog. So, we asked her to paint a few of her favorite Nasty Gal pieces for your swooning pleasure.

Friday, April 27, 2012 Artsy Fartsy: Medusa’s Hairdo
Ever wonder how the infamous Medusa got her twisted hairdo under control? Collage artist Javier Pinon portrays the mythological creature in a romantic and innocent light that makes us change the way we look at her. His series of rose-cheeked Medusas’s are old vintage, pin-up photographs combined with the perfect accessory: the important serpent detail. Sometimes they are bold and colorful while others just perfectly blend in. It almost seems the stone-eyed femme fatal is wearing the chic, fashionable turban or finally got the chance to sunbathe in the south of France next to Grace Kelly straight out of a Hitchcock movie. Either way, we are totally mesmerized by this modern spin on one of the most notorious non-mortals of all time.
Thursday, April 19, 2012 Artsy Fartsy: Stacey Nishimoto + Eliot Lee Hazel
There’s nothing better than two creative minds joining forces to produce amazing things together. That’s why we’re so excited to share this collaboration from our stylist extraordinaire, Stacey Nishimoto and L.A based photographer, Eliot Lee Hazel. This dream team shares a mutual admiration for the likes of Guy Bourdin, David Hamilton and Deborah Turbeville, and more importantly, give each other the freedom to fulfill their own creative needs. The results are beautiful images that sometimes tell personal stories or simply invite you to dream a little dream. We asked Stacey to give us a glimpse into her thoughts and inspiration behind each editorial.
