Thursday, May 15, 2014 Top Tens: How To Be A Summer Goth
Seapunk was cute and normcore is nice, but if there’s a single look you should really consider as temperatures turn up, it’s the one that features dark layers, enough silver jewelry to weigh both your hands down, and an attitude that says, as Yohji Yamamoto put it, “I don’t bother you, so don’t bother me.” With #AllBlackEverything on the rise, Summer Goth is the go-to for those of us who are unwilling to trade in our floppy hats and black shawls for pink bikinis and tanks. If you’re interested in doing something unexpected this summer, look no further to get the look.

Thursday, May 8, 2014 Guest Edit: Yasi Salek @ Austin Psych Fest
I’ve been to my fair share of music festivals, from Lollapalooza 1995 (yes, I’m old, but I also saw Sonic Youth, Hole, and Pavement in their prime and you probably didn’t so FU) to a number of Warped Tours (don’t you judge me) to this year’s insane Coachella, plus a whole bunch in between. That’s to say that this year’s Austin Psych Fest wasn’t my first dusty, porta-potty filled rodeo, but I will say it was by far one of the best all-around music festival experiences I’ve ever had.
Tuesday, May 6, 2014 Guest Edit: Coachillin’
Sigh of relief, people. We’ve made it through another year of Coachella saturating our media feeds and to celebrate I thought I’d write an article about… my Coachella experience. (Sorry.)
Like tons of other social Californians, I am lucky enough to get a free ticket every year, and it’s a rare privilege extended to a mere 1,000? Thousands? More? Is anyone going to this festival that isn’t getting hooked up and/or paid to be there anymore?
And while the line up is never up my alley, there are a few gems. Also, getting drunk with your friends is fun anywhere—even in the 100 degree desert. It’s definitely a good time, but Coachella as a music festival is just… different.
