Okay, so she may be a little crazy, but no one epitomized ’90s glamour like Naomi. And her BFFs were pretty rad too :)

Amber Saylor (a.k.a. Cannibal’s Find) was a total no-brainer for this week’s vintage shoot. We’ve been crushing hard on her blog for a while, so we just had to find out what she’s into besides putting together badass outfits:
What’s your sign?
Virgo!
Who/what inspires your style the most?
The WHO would be models like Alexandra Spencer, Ashley Smith and Erin Wasson or style icons like the Olsens and Alexa Chung, but if I had to pick a WHAT, it would have to be textures and materials! Looking at a rack of sequins, shag, fur, lace, leather (I could go on and on) always inspires a million and one ideas for me.
What’s your first fashion memory?
When I was in the first grade, I wore my new Converses into my older sister’s classroom. Her teacher told me in front of the entire class that I had put them on the wrong feet, so I spent a lot of time crying in the corner and swearing that I would never put on a pair of shoes again. Fast forward 15 years, and you will find that I have a sick shoe obsession.
One thing in your closet you can’t live without:
My rings! I feel naked without them. It probably doesn’t help that they bring attention to my always chipped nail polish, but you can’t win em’ all!
What article of clothing best sums up your style?
Platforms! Don’t get my wrong, I love a good pair of Chucks and I definitely can’t get enough of my UNIF Hellraisers, but when it comes to shoes, I can’t deny a good 6 inches underneath my feet.
What has been your best vintage find?
I love all of my Harley tees, but as ridiculous as it sounds, I picked up a few bullets from World War I at the Pasadena Flea Market a few months back that I turned into a necklace. It’s insane because they weigh around 3-5 lbs. together, but I’d gladly say that they are my best find. I get excited about owning something from decades ago that no one else has because I’ve personalized it.
Favorite blogs?
4th and Bleeker, Oracle Fox, Bleach Black, Olsens Anonymous, A Go-Go Fashion, Fade To Black, and Purse N’ Boots are just a few.
What’s playing in heavy rotation on your iPod right now?
Lykke Li, Delta Spirit, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Mazzy Star, Queen, Black Lips, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Dr. Dog. Someone stop me!
What are you most looking forward to in 2012?
Honestly, I’m looking forward to watching how far I will come compared to 2011. I think everyone is capable of getting what they want out of life if they really set their minds to it, and because I have extremely high standards for myself, I’m a little afraid of how far I will push myself. I’m scared, but it’s a good thing! OH, and Im looking forward to the world not ending and the expression on the faces of everyone who thinks it will.
If you could steal one thing from today’s shoot, what would it be?
The white shag coat! But since I know how great you guys are at 2 for 1 deals, I know you’ll throw in that killer The Rolling Stones tee as well :)
What makes you a Nasty Gal?
Just a girl who can be both fashion conscious and unconscious where she feels fit. I like mixing vintage with the new and it’s nice to know that although Nasty Gal’s roots are in vintage clothing, you guys can still house emerging brands that you handpick to set girls like me apart from the crowd, whether it be a New Year’s Eve party dress or denim cut-offs around town.

“So, this flannel thing. Is that a nod to the crispy Seattle weather, or are you just trying to stay warm in front of the refrigerator?”

Vintage Virgin and Jean Greige show us two badass ’90s-inspired takes on UNIF’s Chelsea Shearling Coat in our exclusive colors, olive and camel.
We’re in awe of Vintage Virgin’s ridiculous layering skills, and seriously coveting Jean Greige’s leather daddy hat and snakeskin skinnies, but which Nasty Gal do you think wore it better?
