Now that our Instagram feeds are filled with blurry runway shots, numerous outfit selfies, and backstage beauty pics, it can only mean one thing: it’s New York Fashion Week! We’re especially stoked for this season because Nasty Gal made an appearance at Zana Bayne’s fall 2014 show. The fashion-blogger-turned-leather-accessories-designer created some killer all-black pieces (think: bondage-y harnesses, fringe tassel skirts, and cone bra bustiers) complete with—drum roll—our Shoe Cult Veiled Mesh Pump. Check out some shots of our stilettos in action below.
Natalia is like a nerd trapped in a model. Though she comes to life in front of a camera, she still claims it’s outside of her comfort zone. She prefers zines and anime, and her house is full of comic books. Her paintings and drawings mix all of these with girlie colors (like the purple in her hair) and fashion and pop culture references to create something totally awesome.
Meet a girl called Steak. She’s pretty funny for a girl—which means she’s hilarious, because we all know girls are way funnier than guys, right? Rachael is an iguana mother, a cacti farmer, a rap music listener, a wine drinker and a Nasty Gal blog contributor. In short, she is everything awesome, and she also has good taste in cars.
We love Italian native Marta Pozzan for her “che figata” (re: super cool) personal style that she shares with the masses on It’s Super Fashion. She mixes high and low to produce looks that are ultra fashion forward, yet incredibly affordable. Not one to shy away from colors nor prints, we’re happy to report her personality is just as fun and eclectic as her outfit choices! Read on as she dishes on everything from her adventures in acting and fashion editorial, to her lusts from Frodo to fro-yo.
Jenny Ong is the ultra adorable blogger behind Neon Blush. Her style is basically basics-gone-badass with quilted biker jackets, asymmetric minis and zipped boots being regulars in the rotation. When she’s not working or hanging out with her two pups, she’s tempting us with serious food porn on Instagram (girl has a thing for soft-boiled eggs).
Rachel Nguyen is brains and beauty: She has a fashion blog That’s Chic and a degree in economics. She’s been hustling from job to job for years—most recently as a denim designer—so now she’s enjoying time to work on creating her own clothing line, and also being able to hang out by the pool whenever the hell she feels like it. You can go ahead and hate her for her mid-Wednesday pics of margaritas. She’s ok with that.
Talking to artist Michelle Kim makes you smarter. Her paintings and installations reference everything from existential philosophy to poetry, religion and occult studies. If she creates something she hates, she might set it on fire or throw it in the street, only to retrieve it and decide that maybe she likes it after all…
Though the Polar Paradox blogger recently traded blonde for brunette, Whitney Cox is a California girl through and through. She loves to travel, but since she lives by the beach, she loves to come home even more. Even in short-shorts and heels, Whitney’s still as laidback and as sweet as they come.
Niki Takesh is the kind of girl who’ll tell you her bra size the first time you meet, aka the kind of girl who’s your instant BFF. A dilettante who does a little bit of everything from styling to music videos, Niki used to dream of being a pop star like her idol, Britney Spears, but now wants to do everything, including hosting her own talk show where she and her guests sip tequila from coffee mugs. We would totally watch that.
The blogger behind Style2Bones, Dominque Nghiem’s style always stands out. She loves fluorescents, holograms and prints as out-of-this-world as she is. She’s almost always rocking a giant platform, even when she’s on a skateboard (though she has been known to make exceptions for safety).
It’s finally here! Shoe Cult, our very first footwear collection has landed! What are you waiting for? Join the cult.
A model and aspiring actress, Dani Vee is just adorable. She’s funny, outgoing and can talk to anyone—especially if she’s talking about food or music. The first time we met Dani, she was wearing combat boots, argyle socks and a giant muumuu that said ‘Go F**k Yourself.’ Instantly, we were in love.
