Wednesday, July 23, 2014 Lessons From The Pros: Bird Of Paradise
It’s easy to forget how dumb and gross it is living in the city when summer rolls around and nobody’s wearing pants, let alone ample butt coverage (being that this year, the hemlines are rising well above cleavage crescent in the jorts realm). Skin is a beautiful thing, especially when you get to paint it all fancy and show it off.
In possibly the first time for me that a beauty look has been inspired by a Discovery Channel documentary on Netflix, I’m taking a feather (or petal?) from our winged brethren, the bird of paradise. Funny how it’s generally the males in nature who get all the pretty colors to dance-hop around and woo their future baby-mamas. Not to delve into cross-dressing here, I see no problem following suit with these harbingers of tropical paradisco. Here’s a look inspired by the flower or the animal—you pick.

We’re suggesting you put on a show.
Friday, July 18, 2014 Lessons From The Pros: Bowie Brights
It’s taken us decades to master the art of applying black eyeliner ever so carefully along the eyelid (pro tip: bad idea to do this while driving). So you can imagine our panic when we noticed that neon under-eyeliner was becoming a thing. To find out how to rock those under-eye brights without going full-blown Bowie lighting bolts, we called Gloria Noto, our go-to makeup guru, for reinforcement. Get beauty-schooled.
Thursday, July 17, 2014 Right Now: Five Music Videos We Are Obsessed With This Week
Even though MTV has been hijacked by teen moms and teen wolves, the art of the music video is not dead. Our favorite artists are still making them left and right; they’re just getting more creative with their execution (like Kate Nash, pictured above, who edited her own DIY video entirely on iMovie herself). From weird cartoons to Weird Al, here are five music videos we are currently obsessing over.
