Saturday, August 24, 2013 Sophia’s Corner: Working for the Weekend

WSJ

I only get sick about once a year, but when it hits, it hits hard. And this week, unfortunately, it’s been germs 1, me 0. But I plan on kicking the sick soon—very soon—because this is a pretty big weekend. Nasty Gal is being featured in the WSJ magazine, which hits newsstands today, but I’ve also got a music festival to attend. Super important things happening here, people.

The end of summer brings many horrible things (school, cold weather), but in Los Angeles, it at least goes out with a bang, thanks to FYF Fest. On August 24th and 25th, FYF takes over L.A. State Historic Park for a two day festival packed with music, art and comedy showcasing bands such as the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, My Bloody Valentine, the Breeders, Solange and more. Because tickets are still available, we caught up with FYF founder Sean Carlson to talk about why you should probably buy those tickets, like, now.
