LOVE 11

Monday, May 21, 2012 Studio Soundtracks: Let’s Dance

This week’s soundtrack is filled with everything from Hot Chip’s crazy new futuristic jam to an amped up version of one of our favorite Lana Del Rey tunes. Not only are we blasting this playlist for our latest lookbook shoot, but we’re sure it will have you dancing around your apartment all summer long!

“Night & Day” by Hot Chip

“In case you didn’t know, Hot Chip is back with some serious beats perfect for a spin on the dance floor. Not only is their new single on repeat in our studio, but one of our favorite models, Lara Stone, stars as a futuristic femme fatale in the just-released video. Forget the day, this one is made for the night!”

“Where Have You Been” by Rihanna

“It’s no secret that we’ve become pretty obsessed with Rihanna over the years. We have her album, Talk That Talk, on repeat, follow her on Instagram, and watch her every fashion move. We’ve been styling with tons of tribal jewelry, prints, and chains lately, so we love that this video has all of that…and more. “Where Have You Been” has enough adrenaline to keep us moving during an eight-hour shoot!”

“Nightmusic” by Grimes feat. Majical Cloudz

“Grimes can seriously do no wrong these days! “Nightmusic” is her new collaboration with Majical Cloudz. We’re way into her ethereal sound and hairstyle in this video.”

“New” by No Doubt

“This randomly came on my iPod over the weekend, and all I could think about was watching the video! I forgot about No Doubt’s rave-inspired video for my favorite song from their second album, “Return of Saturn”. Oh, and can we talk about Gwen’s hair? The pink ombre is perfect for summer hairspiration.”

“Blue Jeans (RAC Remix)” by Lana Del Rey

“With music festival season in full swing, it wouldn’t be complete without at least one remix from our other studio obsession, Lana Del Rey. Sure, we love her dreamy debut,”Born To Die”, but it’s even better when its been amped up a bit. Grab your Slasher Flicks and flower crown – we think it’s safe to say it’s going to be the summer of Lana!”
