It goes without saying that we were majorly stoked to have one of our fave bloggers, Aimee Song of Song of Style, stop by our DTLA headquarters to pick through our vintage treasures and work her styling magic.
Of course while she was here, we just had to get some down and dirty gossip about fashion, architecture and what the future holds:
Who/what inspires your style most?
My mom definitely inspired me the most when I was growing up since she is the queen of mixing and matching. Now, I’m inspired by all the great street fashion from all over the world, music, movies and the beautiful colors and textures found in art.
How does your love of architecture and interiors influence your style?
I pay attention to structure, fit and proportion. I love when elements from different periods and different styles are mixed into a space and I tend to mix different styles when I’m dressing as well.
What is your first fashion memory?
I think I was around the age of 7 when I followed my mom to a Chanel store and she bought me a tiny quilted Chanel bag, which I still have. Okay, to be honest, that was the first stylish fashion memory. My very first fashion memory is me begging my mom to buy me a set of Hello Kitty pajamas. Boy, was I obsessed with Hello Kitty.
What article of clothing best sums up your style?
An oversized white blouse. I must have at least 30 of them.
Your best vintage find:
Python cowboy boots I recently scored.
You couldn’t live without:
Food. My boyfriend jokes that people should pay me with food instead of with money.
What are you most looking forward to being back in Los Angeles?
Spending more time at the beach and with my family! Also the warm weather and not having to worry about flashing everybody because the wind is blowing my skirt like it does in San Francisco.
What’s in the future for you here in LA?
I’ll be designing a screenwriter’s home soon so we’ll see where that takes me as I start my journey as an interior designer.
If you could steal one thing from today’s shoot, what would it be?
Just one thing? Probably the amazing tie-dyed bell bottoms!
