Tuesday, March 13, 2012 Newsflash: Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

As you may have noticed, things look a little different around here. Today marks an exciting day in Nasty Gal’s history: we’ve unleashed a new logo upon the interwebs.
After weeks of meetings discussing concepts, kerning characters, and refining serifs, we threw in the towel. To quote Dirty Dancing, “nobody puts Baby in the corner” — this is true also for our growing company. There is no way to sum up the spirit of our brand in a rigid, manufactured logo. I’d always loved this scribble that our Art Director, Sarah, had made on a note card in her first few weeks of work at Nasty Gal. So I thought: “why not use that?”
In a way, our new logo is as “found” as the vintage pieces I used to spend hours searching for when we were just a little eBay store. There’s always been an effortlessness to Nasty Gal that no one in our offices can take credit for, including myself. The spirit of our brand comes from the collective energy of our ballsy, stylish, and inspiring customers.
So here it is. We love it and I hope you do too.
xo,
Sophia
P.S. The blog re-launch is next, so get ready.
