Currently On Repeat

This week is all about the songs that you just want to listen to over and over again. So here’s what we were playing on repeat in the studio while shooting the upcoming May lookbook! Just don’t blame us when you have TLC’s “Creep” stuck in your head for the next few days…

“I’m His Girl” by Friends

“I instantly feel 10x cooler as soon as I turn on this song. It’s the perfect jam for when you’re getting ready to throw on your favorite shoes (or 2 inch boots in my case) and take a spin on the dance floor. Friends are some serious dance punks, full of ‘tude and gritty like their Brooklyn stomping grounds. The bass lines and cheeky lyrics are perfect for a night out.”

“Low Shoulder” by Toro Y Moi

“Nothing puts me in a better mood than listening to this song on on the way to work. It took me forever to see this video, and it’s definitely worth three and a half minutes of your day. It’s an awesome ode to classic slasher flicks, like Rosemary’s Baby and Suspiria, and I love the creepy (yet beautiful) visuals set to a sweet, dreamy melody.”

“Forever” by Haim

“I got to see Haim do an acoustic performance at a house party that our vintage buyer, Liz, invited me to a couple of weeks ago. It’s pretty rare that I’m immediately blown away, but these girls are the real deal. The band consists of three LA-based sisters, and not only are their harmonies incredible, but they can also shred and bang on an instrument better than most out there. Bonus: their three-track EP, Forever, is available to download for free on their website.”

“Successful” by Drake & Trey Songz

“On a totally different note, I had a Chris Brown obsession not too long ago and I’m happy to announce that I’ve since switched to Drake. Does anyone else remember him on Degrassi? Weird. Anyway, Devyn keeps playing this song and I have to say that it’s one of my new obsessions, and it probably won’t be going away anytime soon.”

“Creep” by TLC

“Soooo, TLC is going on tour again, just in case you didn’t know. And even though the rumors of a Left Eye hologram sadly aren’t true, I have no doubt it will be awesome nonetheless. “Creep” was one of my teen favorites, and has some pretty slick beats that I can get down on today as I’m sure Devyn would agree. TLC had it going on in the Nineties, musically and stylistically. This almost makes me wanna bust out the butterfly. Alright, I’m pushing it.”
