Our Summer Anthems

With the holiday weekend almost in reach, it’s time to leave spring in the dust with some of our all-time favorite summer jams. We’ve got everything from classic Beach Boys to the song that defined summer in the ’90s, “Kids In America.” This playlist is best enjoyed at full blast, so break out the SPF and grab a cold one – it’s officially time to party.

“Cruel Summer” by Bananarama

“This ’80s classic was a total no-brainer. The funky beat (and the fact that we still know all of the lyrics) makes it perfect for an impromptu dance party or road trip sing-along.”

“California Girls” by The Beach Boys

“Because we’re California girls, and wouldn’t have it any other way. Oh yeah, and The Beach Boys rule.”

“Kids In America” by The Muffs

“One word: Clueless. Every time we hear this song, we’re instantly transported to riding around Beverly Hills in Cher’s white Jeep. Which basically means we could listen to this on repeat for the rest of our lives.”

“Summertime” by Sublime

“Alright, now it’s time for the epic “Summertime” battle. First up, Sublime’s distinctly SoCal version that makes us long to be on the beach with a beer in hand, stat.”

“Summertime” by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince

“Next up, the DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince jam that literally gets stuck in our head every time we hear the word ‘summertime’. Bonus points for their mad print mixing skills.”
