Devyn, The Badass Girl Behind The Lens

Vintage The Perverts Tee

Meet Devyn, the coolest Assistant Photographer on the planet. Inspired by old school streetwear, vintage photos of b-boys, and ’70s skater culture, she never fails to show up to the studio in mindblowingly awesome outfits and has one of the most unique styles of anyone we know. Which is saying a lot. Her motto: It’s not really what you wear, but how you wear it.

“I love hunting for the perfect vintage tees to take home and cut up! I always stretch out the necks because I like the way it hangs.”

The Hundreds hat, Fake Coogi sweat top, vintage button-down and pants, black leather Vans

“Just another day in my fake Coogi sweat top! I love the desaturated palette and 90s hip hop vibe. It’s my homage to Biggie Smalls.”

Neff beanie, cut-off muscle tee, Dickies shorts, black leather Vans

“This is my ‘homie’ outfit. I grew up wearing Dickies and Vans, so I love translating that into something a bit more badass with a skater edge.”

Blazer, blouse from Bologna, Italy, wallet chain (as necklace), maxi skirt – all vintage; Alexander Wang cutout boots

“I was super inspired by this boy I saw on a blog wearing a long patterned skirt, because he still managed to look really masculine. I usually never wear a skirt, but I dig the masculine-feminine juxtaposition. I’m also really into the idea of wearing wallet chains as necklaces. I think it’s fun to pair such an elegant collar with a hard metal piece. It makes it more me, I guess.”

UNIF Slayher Muscle Tee and Morrison Moto Pant, Doc Martens Classic 8 Eye Boot

“You can’t go wrong with a tight pair of leather pants paired with a cool vintage tee. There’s nothing better than a shirt that looks and feels like it’s been washed a hundred times. As for the ice cream, I go to Scoops almost every day. They know me by name. In between work, the gym, and breakdancing classes, I can always make time for Scoops.”
