Daniel and Ramsell first bonded over pizza while cutting 20 wigs to make KeSha’s dancers look like Kiefer Sutherland from The Lost Boys for the 2010 VMAs. She was performing as a final act and the duo was paired up to style hair for her 15 dancers. Needless to say, it was one crazy night and they’ve since became great friends, collaborators, and our go-to hair guys.
Even though Daniel’s a master of rainbow-fueled color and Ramsell has a less-is-more philosophy when it comes to hair, there’s no denying that they’re a dream team and the proof is in the pictures. Here’s a taste of what they’re up to when they’re not busy working their magic in our studio, from Daniel’s next-level dye jobs at Andy Lecompte Salon to Ramsell‘s styling for the likes of Dazed And Confused and Purple Magazine.
And now, tips from the pros:
Ramsell – “Finding a balance in what you’re comfortable with and what actually works for you is most important. If you have curly hair – enhance it. If you have straight hair – pin it with some bobby pins or just spray it with water. Keep it easy and set your own trend.”
Daniel – “I specialize in color that makes you feel. I pull my inspiration from people who see life in a colorful way. Don’t be afraid to experiment and have fun. Look at your hair as a blank canvas!”
