Highlights from the ultimate in you do you expression.
Afropunk, the New York-based music, fashion, diversity and look fly AF fest, landed in Los Angeles this week thanks to Red Bull Sound Select’s 30 Days in LA. But banger performances by Cakes da Killa and Bounce Queen Big Freedia were almost overshadowed by those who showed up, celebrated, glitter-painted and celebrated some of our country’s diverse perspectives. It’s a move that feels more important now than ever before. Check out our best of the best, and inspire yourself a little (or maybe a lot).
“Just seeing all the creativity and love and black joy tonight—it’s amazing.” – Carmen, partygoer.
“What am I wearing? Blackness.” – Olu and Bex, partygoers.
“I’m from New York–so I gotta rock the fur.” – Tiara
