Though the Polar Paradox blogger recently traded blonde for brunette, Whitney Cox is a California girl through and through. She loves to travel, but since she lives by the beach, she loves to come home even more. Even in short-shorts and heels, Whitney’s still as laidback and as sweet as they come.
How did you start your blog?
I started my blog about a year ago. I worked at Saks at the time, and I worked with a lot of girls who were always asking me where I got my stuff. And then I started an Instagram where I would post pictures of my outfits and in the comments, people would always ask me where I got my items. So then I decided I would start a blog for my friends, and it just took off, and people responded really well to my style. The best thing has been having an open mind and trying new brands and just styling it in my own way, compared to how you would see it on their site or how the designer pictured it.
Who do you take inspiration from?
I love Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and the Olsens. They’re so unbelievably gorgeous, so I like to think what would they wear if they were my age, and take inspiration from that.
How would you describe your style?
I think my style is the essential California girl with a free spirit, with a little bit of a fashiony touch. It’s not all boho. Sometimes I’ll wear fun, edgy things and sometimes I’ll be super hippy.
