While eating birthday cupcakes for breakfast this morning, talk naturally turned to our biggest childhood crushes. The one babe we could all agree upon was River Phoenix. Unlike many of the faces that graced Teen Beat back in the day (ahem, JTT), he was an award-winning actor, musician, and activist – not to mention, the eternal boy of our dreams.

It’s been so long since I’ve even thought about River Pheonix, I almost forgot about how beautiful he was. Also, and I say this with much pride, I was part of the River Pheonix fan club when I was ten. Hahahaa. Do celebrities even have fan clubs anymore? I still remember the day he passed…I never really got sad about celebrities deaths in a personal sense, but with him it was different. Imagine what he would’ve accomplished had he lived!
