A pouty makeup tutorial just in time for Valentine’s Day–we went behind the scenes of our lingerie shoot with makeup artist Stacey Tan to get the deets on how to achieve the “bitten lip” look. If you’ve been on any fashion or beauty site as of late, you’ve seen this trend. But for those who aren’t so familiar, the “bitten lip” makeup trend first popped up on the Korean beauty scene. It’s basically a gradient lip with color fading out from the center. Sounds a little weird, but it’s totally cute. See for your self and try it at home with our step-by-step below!

You’ll Need: lip balm, lip gloss, dark red lipstick, pale pink lipstick, and two lipstick applicator brushes (optional).

Let’s get started!

Step 1: Start with applying a non-tinted lip balm on freshly exfoliated lips

Step 2: Apply a dark red lipstick in the center of the lips

Step 3: Use a brush or fingers to feather out the color without going all the way to the edges

Step 4: Apply the pale pink lipstick to the edge areas of the lips for an evenly smudged look

Step 5: Apply a layer of gloss over lips

All done!

Now that you’ve got your beauty look down, head over to our Valentine’s shop for your outfit!
