After three successful collaborations in 2018, we’re happy to announce Emma Louise Connolly as our very first Style Editor! We know you’re thinking, “what does that even mean?”. Don’t worry, we’ll explain. It means a year full of exclusive drops, seasonal edits, and editorial content with our fave UK it-girl Emma. She’s the first to hold this new title and we’re so happy to kick things off with her! Check our latest ELC collection and stay tuned for more to come.
How does it feel to be Nasty Gal’s first Style Editor?
It feels pretty damn good!! I am SO excited to be working with my Nasty family on another epic project. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into something new, bring it on baby!
How do you think UK street-style is unique in comparison to other places?
UK street style is always evolving and is incredibly diverse. You can wear an absolutely bonkers outfit to brekkie, an outrageously chic outfit to lunch and probably a bikini to dinner and no one would bat an eyelid. For me, I always tend to dress a little more relaxed, grungy and Rock’n’Roll in the UK.
What trends are you looking forward to this year?
All. Of. Them. Comfy tailoring, an 80’s shoulder pad injection and all of the beige. 2019 is looking like a comfy relaxed, big shouldered beige suit and I am here for it. I also love the sudden influx of hair accessories. Clips, bows, bands. Give them all to me. I’m also growing out my annoying fringe so genuinely, give them all to me!
What are your must-have pieces from this collection and why?
Honestly, every time we work together on an edit I can never choose just one piece. We make sure there’s always something in there for everyone and every style.
I am obsessed with the jumpsuits. A jumpsuit is a serious lazy girl weapon. Literally jump into it and you’re done. An epic day to night option requiring minimal effort. Perfect.
How did you come to find your personal style?
I have no idea. To be honest, I’m all about wearing what makes me feel good on that day. Some days, I feel great in a tracksuit and trainers. Other days, I want to play around a little more. I think style is there to be experimented with, and to just do what feels good
