Lessons From The Pros: Bathing Beauties

LOVE 50

Thursday, May 10, 2012 Lessons From The Pros: Kiss And Tell

Inspired by all of the bold hues and crazy prints we can’t get enough of lately, we wanted to add a splash of color into our latest how-to. This week, we’re going to show you three takes on the perfect post-make-out pout.

You know the moment when your lipstick starts to fade from the outer edges of your lips, leaving a flush of color in the center? That’s what we’re going for. It looks fresh and effortless, and it’s a great way to give the Lolita red  a night off and play around with bright and dark shades that we usually shy away from. So, without further ado…

1. Using an angled lip brush, apply your lip color right in the middle of your upper and lower lip. Then, spread the color out a little using downward strokes.

2. Take a cotton swab and spread the color to the rest of your lips using outward strokes so it fades out to your lip line. You want it to look like you just got out of a make-out sesh and your lipstick is starting to wear off…in the best way possible.

3. Here are three of our all-time favorite lipstick shades – MAC Pink Nouveau (hot pink), MAC Morange (orange, duh) and YSL Rouge Pur Couture in Noir Laque (blackberry).

4. Finish your makeup with a slept-in smoky eye to go with the sexy “just rolled out of bed” look, or contrast your lips with a graphic cat eye to add a bit more drama for a night out.

Muah!

I don’t wear lip color very often because I don’t know how to apply it, but I will definitely have to try this out. Thanks for sharing!

It’s amazing how you make something that many people would call a make-up accident look like the hottest style ever.
    I love you Nasty Girls!
