Here for a good time, and a long time. At Nasty Gal HQ, we’re learning all about how we can increase the longevity of our stuff so that we can minimise its impact on the planet. Today’s objective: how to clean makeup brushes. Besides making them ineffective when it comes to blending, not cleaning your brushes regularly can cause breakouts and the spread of bacteria. Not ideal. Emma, our Visual Merchandiser and expert on all things crafty, gives us the low-down on how to care for yours.
What You'll Need:
- Your (dirty) makeup brushes
- Anti-bacterial soap or gentle washing up liquid
- Sieve
- Warm water
- Towel
- Bowl
Step 1:
Firstly, fill up a bowl with warm water, add your soap/washing liquid, and soak each brush.
Step 2:
Then, using a sieve, rub the bristles on the mesh of the sieve to remove the pigment.
Once clean, place each in a neat row on a towel to dry. And that’s literally it!
