Julia Hafstrom

Swedish, redheaded, and the star of our March lookbook?! No wonder we are borderline obsessed with model Julia Hafstrom. So, we did what we always do and asked her a series of personal questions. Totally normal behavior.

The March logbook you modeled looks awesome. It’s about collaging and big juxtapositions. What are some likely things you routinely wear together?

I’ll wear sneakers with anything. Sometimes it looks funny with a cute summer dress, but I don’t care, I love it.

Related (sort of): who’s your favorite collage artist?

I would say my best friend, Ivory Rose.

Any favorite looks stick out from the shoot?

I really liked the bathing suit top from Cheap Monday.

It’s not everyday that we see a redheaded model. What’s it like being the only fire-haired lady at a casting?

It’s good, I mean, it’s nice to be a little different from everyone else.

How long have you been modeling? What has been your favorite gig so far (aside from Nasty Gal, of course)?

I started modeling full-time three years ago, but have been doing it for five years total. My favorite gig might be when I went to the Maldives for an Esprit shoot. It was a really cool experience.

Where are you from originally?

Malmo, Sweden.

The person/place/thing you miss the most about home?

I miss my family, of course. I also miss being able to bike around town. But, I have to say that I was happy to leave the cold behind.

What was your biggest dream as a kid? Still interested?

When I was a kid I wanted to work with dolphins and move to London. I would still consider London, but the dolphins were just a dream.
