Our favorite girl gang takes us on a photographic trip to a secret skateboarding mecca in an abandoned nudist colony. Yep.

Somewhere over the mountains lies a secret location in the desert that has been a mecca for skateboarders for over 30 years. LasChicAZ; an all girl skateboarding gang took to the empty pool in an abandoned nudist colony to get their shred on and hone in on some serious girl power.

Over 20 female skateboarders took the road less traveled from California, Arizona, Canada and beyond to show the world the sisterhood of skateboarding.

Being a female skateboarder ensures a unique path. But as talented women join forces, they grace the grueling action sport with an artistic sense of style that cannot be imitated or mimicked by the average impostor. With the struggles of being a female athlete in a male dominated sport brings the old saying “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” to always ring true.

Natalie Krishna Das dives right in to the pool with a backside grind in the deep. If the water is warm you might as well jump in, right?

The more the merrier. Pro BMX Rider Angie Moreno grabs doubles with Nicole Pothen.

The OG of the crew “Calamity Jean” Rusen grabs frontside in the deep end as the rest of the crew revels in inspiration.

At the end of the day, skateboarding is the binding force that brings us together while we as women fight to create a space for ourselves amongst our passion. There is something to be gained from the dedication that it takes to travel across state lines to get that perfect grind in an off the map location. When passionate females come together with a raw “do it ourselves” attitude, there is no doubt that the world will stop and take notice.
