Monday, September 8, 2014 Artsy Fartsy: Shantell Martin
(photos by Meghan Mcneer)
White walls, T-shirts, and toys beware, Shantell Martin is armed with a marker and she doesn’t consider any surface too sacred. If you aren’t familiar with her work, Shantell’s drawings can best be described as a visual stream of consciousness, “a language of words and lines.” To us, her illustrations, done mostly in black and white and spanning across large walls or covering found objects, are nothing short of stunning. We caught up with Shantell to talk grandma collabs, drawing where you shouldn’t, and why she kind of needs a spare pool right now. — Chris Rellas

Bizarre scenarios, crazy yet lovable characters, and pretty colors—this Miu Miu video is everything we love about Miranda July’s work and more.
Thursday, September 4, 2014 Premiere: “Save Me From Myself” by ADI
Israeli musician ADI isn’t just an incredible singer—she’s a freakishly talented composer, rapper, and producer, too. Whether it’s because of her ever evolving, mermaid-esque hair, her slightly grungy Spice-Girls-meets-Harajuku-girl style, or the simple fact that she’s one of the most interesting and talented girls in music today, you’re going to fall for her. Hear it all for yourself with Nasty Gal’s exclusive premiere of her new single “Save Me From Myself,” which she wrote while on tour in London.
Wednesday, September 3, 2014 Lady DJ: Laila Sakini
Laila Sakini is a fixture in Melbourne’s local music scene. Along with DJing almost every night of the week (or so it seems!), she also holds her own club nights, works in fashion with local labels like P.A.M. and Lucy Folk, and has contributed to magazines including Doingbird and The Blackmail. Oh and, did we forget to mention that she has an epic collection of silk bomber jackets. Find her at a club near you (most likely drinking an Aperol spritzer and carting around a big bag of vinyl). – Ingrid Kesa
