Thursday, August 28, 2014 Right Now: FYF Street Style
Let’s be honest, music festivals aren’t exclusively about music—they’re also a place to showcase your favorite new outfits. We caught a few Nasty Gals doing just that on the grounds of FYF this past weekend.

London’s calling with riding caps, graphic shifts, and plaids—all you need now is a Vespa.
Wednesday, August 27, 2014 Studio Soundtracks: Nasty Gal’s FYF Podcast with Joyce Manor, Mac DeMarco, and More
FYF was hot and crowded and hectic and loud—thus the perfect place to test drive my new podcast! Armed with my extensive knowledge of podcasts (AKA listening to “WTF with Marc Maron”) and thorough band research (Google on my iPhone), I hit the pavement at the fest and grabbed some of my favorite acts including Joyce Manor, Mac DeMarco, Jessy Lanza, and Alanna Gruesome of Joanna Gruesome, to have a chat with them about how their music was going, their festival highlights, and the situation in the Middle East (just kidding). Miss Steaktooth joined me for a few of the interviews, and together I’m pretty sure we managed to make every single interviewee uncomfortable. Yay!

Monday, August 25, 2014 California Dreaming: FYF.GIF
Everyone loves a good GIF, which is why we decided to capture our FYF memories with a Phhhotobooth at our VIP headquarters this weekend. Catch all of the frame-by-frame appearances made by Steaktooth, Blake Anderson, Marnie The Dog, Ty Segall, Jayne Min, Allie Teilz, and, of course, the Nasty Gal crew.
Monday, August 25, 2014 Role Model: Eyeliner Evolution
Audible differences aside, women in music have long had at least one thing in common: Eyeliner—and lots of it. From the theatrical to the streamlined, music’s most memorable women have always been sporting heaps of the smudgy stuff. A few decades ago when there was no HD and nothing short of setting yourself on fire would get you spotted from the nosebleed section of a stadium-sized show, painted faces were one of he best ways to make a visual impact while performing. Here, we cover the best in rock ‘n’ roll eyeliner with both classic and contemporary musical muses, some of which you may have caught at FYF this past weekend.
